Our network has a configuration of 9 MacII's running MacOS, 9 A/UX machines and 1 MacII running Appleshare. I am running the Internet Router on the file server. From observing the various port statistics, the Router SEEMS to be working. From the chooser on the file server, I can see the two Appletalk zones - 1 ethertalk(the network all of the above machines are connected to) and 1 localtalk( a network with 2 appletalk imagewriters and 1 laswerwriter). Last night the Appletalk zones disappeared from every Mac's chooser. The file server disappeared from everyone's machine as well. After checking the status of the file server and the router, I could find nothing wrong. From that time on, the file server acted very strangely. This morning I took the drastic measure and reformatted the file server, reinstalled all software including the Internet Router. I set up the two networks again and brought the Router to a running status. Again from the chooser of file server I could see the 2 zones but not from any other mac in the lab. Anyone else have this problem? If so, what steps were taken to remedy it?
