The goal of SERC is to enforce strategic research in The Netherlands in the area Software Engineering. SERC carries out research projects in close cooperation with universities and participating companies. SERC also plays an active role in organising workshops en conferences on a regular base. As a national center SERC offers a unique platform where scientists and experts from industrial practice can meet. The research efforts of SERC are concentrated around "event-driven" environments. This area is characterized by complex non-hierarchical interactions between people and message based operational processes. One of the main issues will be the computerized support of parallel activities within distributed environements. Among the first research projects started by SERC is the CAMERA project: the design and implementation of a distributed version management system. To extend the current researchteam SERC is looking for a: visiting researcher (1 or 2 years) Candidates must: - have a Ph.D. in computer science, - have experience with the development of complex software, - be actively involved in a closely related research area. Salary will based on the post-doc scales of the Dutch Universities. SERC is located in Utrecht, a beautiful old city in the middle of the country.
