(2) You need the saturated colors the thermal transfer process provides. The Okimate 20 on the Amiga is faster than the C64 situation you described but it is still quite slow. The horizontal white lines between strips are a problem. The story is there was something wrong with the original Amiga/Oki interface and you can get it fixed.
