Actually, it is a boot virus, one that erases blocks 0 and 1 of the disk being booted (warm boot) after being booted from another disk. I think I got it from a homegrown program given to me by a friend, but I'm not sure. I received a lot of information from other son the net, and even got a program to check to see if any of the other disks were infected. It looks like I got the culprit, and I haven't found any other infected disks.
