I want it to be capable of 300/1200/2400 bps send/receive and be Hayes compatible. Features I would expect include auto answer/originate, pass-through phone jack, and speaker. Is there a great difference in quality and/or performance among various brands, or should I simply look for the lowest price? Sometimes software (e.g. Microphone) is sold with the modem as part of a package. Are there any particularly good deals here? Does anyone have any experiences with the Zoom modem? Why are Hayes' so expensive? Ed Seiler seiler@chrpserv.gsfc.nasa.gov [if mail bounces, it may be our host, not the net]
