I don't believe FullWrite is dead. I spoke to the FullWrite support folks and the woman told me that they are currently working on V2.0. In fact there was a feature dealing with citations that I thought would be very useful to implement in FullWrite and she told me to write up my suggestion and send it in to them. I have used both Word 4.0 and WordPerfect 1.0.2 (yes I do own them) and decided to use FullWrite. I would have probably stayed with WordPerfect except that it is still too buggy (the screen updates are still strange, and there are the program still crashes sometimes). My main reason for using FullWrite was its ability to easily slide graphics (ie, equations) up or down on a line using simple key strokes (command-shift + or -). If V2.0 of FullWrite improves the implementation for citations then I think it will be a real nice word processing program for people who write technical document (lots of equations). One of the biggest pains is when you insert or delete an equation (or figure, or table), you have to scan through the document and change all of the reference numbers. Programs like TeX or LaTeX have wonderful methods of keeping track of citations in a document. The other word processing programs (e.g. Word and WordPerfect) don't seem to address this problem. If only I can get EndNote to port their bibliography program over to FullWrite and then I would really have it made.
