About two weeks ago, I inquired about what kinds of special software
was available for generating Christmas cards on the MAC.  I got a
couple of e-mail responses as well as a couple of requests asking me to
summarize the results; here's the summary.

Basically, Printshop (by Brouderbund [sp?]) is designed to generate
greeting cards for all occasions--Christmas included--as well as
letterheads, banners, and signs.  Printshop also allows you to add you
own text, with limited formatting; in addition, you can use either its
own graphics library or you can import your own graphics from another
program.  Printshop will then format your card into for quadrants so,
when the paper is properly folded, everything comes out in the right
orientation.

Someone also said MacPaint could be setup to print greeting cards, but
he didn't recall the setup.  Finally, another person suggested to
simply use "any" drawing program to divide the page into quarters and
setup whatever you wanted--paying attention to orientation--in each
quadrant.

I also asked the people that e-mailed me if they knew of any
specially-made colored-stationary (for use with laser printers) that
was made for computer-generated Christmas cards; the response was
null.  Maybe I'll have to print my Christmas cards on double-overed
Christmas wrapping paper after all (assuming the printer would even fed
such stock without melting or eating it) :-).  I did try going to a
Hallmark store to inquire about such stationary, but all they have is
odd-size stationary with borders or generic, non-Christmas-like
pictures on it.

If anyone has any other suggestions (or practical experience) with
either greeting-card software or stationary, please e-mail me.  I'll be
happy to post a supplemental summary of the additional information.
