They are offering to exchange the damaged drive for a new, double-capacity, 2 year-wa- rranty drive (including new versions of the 10MB of stuff they bundle) at a price "below their manufacturing cost". In my case, they are exchanging an Innerdrive 45 SE (with a damaged platter assembly) for a brand new (?) Direct Drive 80. The low price for the exchange is US$199. Now, what do you guys think of this deal? Is this one of the strategies that Jasmine is pursuing to woo its unsatisfied costumers, or is this just a way to recycle the returned-damaged-and-now-repaired HDs of previous months?
