It is nifty and safe. I use it to support an old Assimilation brand MIDI adaptor. The T-scan adaptor takes power from the floppy port (you can still use an external floppy by plugging into the T-scan adaptor daisy-chain style. No muss, no fuss, no need for an electrical outlet.
