As I have said in postings to this group previously, double.sty is
only a partial solution. For example, having to use the singlespace
environment in quotations is not good. The LaTeX file should have
as little visual markup as possible. For example, the center,
flushleft, and flushright environments as well as all the size-changing
commands should be used seldomly if at all. I am working on a "paper"
document style which will produce a properly formatted undergraduate
paper (a variant, for the most part of the article style). This will
be released early next year when I've had the opportunity to test 
everything in it.

A generic document style may follow at a later date.
