       DISCRETE MODELS IN FLUID DYNAMICS

      (University of Coimbra, Portugal, 18-22 September 1990)


      Scientific Program:

   The colloquium will be concerned with recent developments of
discrete methods of fluid dynamics, particularly in the two most
relevant aspects: the half discrete case --- discrete Boltzmann
equation; and the totally discrete one --- lattice gas (CA).
Both the conceptual and the numerical significance of these
discrete models will be covered as well as the mathematical
problems which arise from them.
