  As far as I can tell the only thing which uses the underscore feature
in termcap is rn. If you have type ansi and use underscore, you don't
see it on a VAG or EGA. I added a vga type in termcap, which puts
underscore text in red. This works fine for me. I changed the terminal
type in /etc/ttytypes from ansi to vga for the consoles. Added this line
after ansic type:

ega:vga:underline in red:us=\E[31m:ue=\E[37m:tc=ansi
