I got an application that wishes to unmap itself WITHOUT THE WINDOW MANAGER KNOWING ABOUT IT. I don't want the window manager to perform the action it normally performs on windows that are being unmapped. I tried to temporarily make the window an override_redirect, unmap it, then set the override_redirect to False, but the window manager only sees the initial override_redirect=True and never again manages the window. Any window manager/event gurus out there got any ideas? Please post a responce or send to peebles@mips.com, I'm not at Berkeley!
