First, it has the lines: Ultrix This is DEC's name for Berkeley 4.2. These lines should probably be removed from the file, since the text further down is more specific. It says: Vax running Ultrix (m-vax.h; s-bsd4-2.h or s-bsd4-3.h) Works. Note that "ultrix" is essentially 4.2 or 4.3, depending on version. Can anyone say for certain which versions of Ultrix work with 4.2, and which with 4.3? I've generally only had success using 4.2. Ultrix now runs on machines other than the VAX (such as the PMAX and other DEC/MIPS machines), but this isn't made clear. It says: Pmax, Mips from DEC (m-pmax.h; s-bsd4-3.h) Minor changes merged in 18.55. I'm not convinced that this is correct; I think that 4.2 may be needed for these machines as well.
