This week, the media thought it was news that the USSR put its
strategic nuclear forces on 10-minute alert during the 1968
Czekoslovakia business.  It is ironic that this is deemed a
newsworthy case of extreme previous tensions and risk, when it is
virtually ignored in the media that strategic nuclear missile
crews are now on perpetual 3-minute launch alert.
