Message-ID: <7799@aimed.UUCP> Date: 29 Nov 89 16:35:52 GMT Distribution: tor Organization: AIM, Inc, Toronto, Ontario Lines: 22 My radio has been tuned to CFNY more or less by default for years. Most people are aware of the schitzo program changes over the last few years, and the firing and resignation of many of the classic CFNY staff. I kept listening only because it was the least irritating source of background noise that could be relied on for regular information reports (news, weather, etc.). Since the station was sold, flakey on-air personalities have been disappearing and names from the past keep cropping up. I can't even remember the names of the banished flakes (hey, its been days), but yesterday morning I heard Live Earl Jive and Beverley Hills talking to Reiner Schwartz about Don Berns in the afternoon. What gives? Anyone know if this is part of a scheme to bring back commercial alternative radio? I still remember, years ago, Earl Jive announcing: "...and that was Tubular Bells, by Mike Oldfield...and now, side two..." Maybe there's more of this on the way. -- Ross Morrissey ross@aimed.UUCP AIM Inc. (416) 423-1085 {lsuc, uunet!mnetor}!aimed!ross "Forgive me, I'm just a Pick Programmer."
