There are attempts to turn it into a permanent position. *********************************************************************** TRENT UNIVERSITY COMPUTER STUDIES PROGRAM POSITION POSTING The Computer Studies Program invites applications for a Limited Term Faculty Position to commence July 1, 1990, subject to budgetary approval. QUALIFICATIONS: A Ph.D. degree in computer science or in a closely related field is preferred, but a record of significant achievement in the field of computing or "all but dissertation" status in a Ph.D. graduate program will be favourably considered. THE POSITION: This faculty appointment will be at the Assistant Professor level. It will involve undergraduate teaching in a liberal arts and science environment and the undertaking of research. TERM: For one year. THE ENVIRONMENT: Trent University is a small (3,500) arts and science university concentrating on excellence in undergraduate education and situated at Peterborough, Ontario (about 140 km from Toronto). A VAX 11/780 computer is available as are many special-purpose microcomputers used for laboratory instruction and research.
