Specifically, should I buy the Developer's Edition? Zortech sent me an order form that is valid until Dec. 31st, and on it, the Developer's Edition was $450 (which includes compiler, debugger, toolkit, and library source). If you just want to learn C++, I would suggest the compiler, debugger, and toolkit. The debugger is very easy to use and will help tremendously (you won't have to use cout as your main debugging tool :-). The toolkit gives you source code and shows code examples in its manual. That will probably help you to see real-life C++ examples. As for the library source, if you're just learning, you probably won't need to do much dinking around with it. Of course, if you bought the compiler, debugger, and toolkit separately, it would cost you $500 (as listed on their pricing sheet), so you're better off buying the Developer's Edition for $450 (of course, IMHO, charging only $450 for all that is a steal for a product so good). I've always bought directly from Zortech. Their order number in the US is (617)646-6703. They've been pretty timely with my orders, too. Tom Klempay NCR E&M Atlanta tek@atlanta.ncr.com
