It's too much trouble to say pound define, or hash define, or whatever, and it ISN'T a SHARP SIGN. Anyone who has ever looked at a sheet of music can see that a sharp symbol and the hashmark symbol found on shift-3 (on most keyboards) are NOT THE SAME! If I say "Define FOOBAR equal to 3" you will know what I mean, right??? So I don't have to actually say the pound/sharp/hash/etc. Fred
