I support elm internally and was speechless when a user informed me of the 
following error (not verbatim but close):

Premature end found on seek in mailbox. Elm aborts.

folowing that message, the mailbox disappeared. No residue was found in /tmp
either.

Elm has been stable for months now... what could have caused this?

Scenerio:
	the /usr/spool/mail is mounted on several machines within yp domain.
	user has alias in YP database pointing to single machine.

Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.
