In fact I am pretty baffled. We have a cluster of 4 sparcstations and a sparcserver and the /var/spool/mail directory resides on the server with all of the stations NFS mounting it. I see no appearant NFS problems. There is a very high correlation between this error and complaints that someone didn't get some mail (not too surprising eh?!).
