The two tasks are not related; although they exist on the same physical system. The type of sharing I'm interested in is exactly that of UNIX 5.3 (shmat, shmget, shmctl etc.). The netmemory server seems like the right idea but is suboptimal for the local case; only one writer at a time. All I want is FAST shared memory?
