Info Keywords: MINIX ATARI ST FILE SYSTEM HARD DRIVE Message-ID: <17429@rpp386.cactus.org> Date: 11 Dec 89 04:13:17 GMT Organization: Mark Lehmann Lines: 30 This is probably a basic question that has been answered a hundred times in this newsgroup. Is there a standard mount procedure defined somewhere for mounting the "/dev/hd?" special files to directories in MINIX ST? I just reformatted my hard drive and would like to set up the mounts in a fairly standard way. I know that in my AIX system that /dev/hd1 is for /u /dev/hd2 is for /usr /dev/hd3 is for / /dev/hd4 is paging space (of course I wouldn't have this in Minix) /dev/hd5 is for kernel dumps (kind of useless if I'm not a system programmer) /dev/hd6 is for /tmp Is there something similar for MINIX. I would like to comform to the world in this matter, but only if the world comforms to a standard. Thanks for the information.
