This is what I found out from messing around with these programs: FBM --- All of it compiled fine on a AT&T 3B1 class UNIX machine. I have not tried to compile them on an Amiga or a IBM PC. This is because I have a lot of disk space available on the 3B15. The *.tar.Z files contain only sources. To get the files you need to uncompress fbm.tar.Z and then do a tar -xf fbm.tar. The FBM package did not work too successfully and I dumped it. PBM --- I just got this around 11:00 pm last night and again everything compiled alright. Actually I had to delete a few lines in almost all of the file since it kept thinking it was sysV machine. Anyway I'm trying at present to convert from a scanned TIFF to IFF. I will let you know how and if it does come out. I have not used TBM! Will be getting back to ya' Bin
