But, I have had severe troubles using the 2090 with non-standard SCSI drives. Multiple R/W errors but not defects in the drive. These seem to be related to the overscan problem but patch2090 doesn't seem to help at all. (yes I followed the instructions.) The drive is a Hewlett Packard 97530D drive it is a full-height drive so I will be putting it in it's own chassis. Now, my questions are as follows... 1: Which Hard Drive controllers will lock the system if there is a SCSI drive connected but not powered up? I know the 2090 does. Or is there a Hard Drive Controller for the 2000 that can be switched on/off? 2: Can the IVS trumpcard handle a drive of this size? I want the Mac partitioning software NOW! I need to get some work finished as soon as possible. 3: Any recommendations from the net re: drive- controller? Oh, BTW the cost of this drive is $1,295.00 for 17.5 MS seek 408 MB unformatted, 323 MB formatted. 40,000 hours MTBF. 30 day warrenty. Used The company is IME in Boston, Mass.
