If an Exec with virtual memory and memory protection comes along, will the unpacking process cause protection violations, or will the unpacked executables have problems that regular executables don't? Certainly if an equivalent to fixhunk was written to patch MEMF_PUBLIC somehow within existing programs, it would be inconvenient for people who have all their big programs packed!
