Get afio! Afio is a PD cpio clone that knows how to recover/resyncrhonize after tape errors. It saved my bacon at a customer site when a cpio archive I had turned up bad. Sun's cpio crashed with a core dump, but afio resynchronized itself and got everything but the one bad file. Afio should be widely available; I downloaded my copy from UUNET. Hope this helps. -- Mark McWiggins Integration Technologies, Inc. (Intek) +1 206 455 9935 DISCLAIMER: I could be wrong ... 1400 112th Ave SE #202 Bellevue WA 98004 uunet!intek01!mark Ask me about C++!
