I have a Paradise VGA+ card, and have found out that the monitor works MUCH better if you leave the card set to the FIXED FREQUENCY setting!! The multisync mode of many cards is geared more toward the original Multisync and similar monitors. On the Paradise card, setting fixed frequency will NOT affect the 800x600 mode. The only 'problem' is that in the fixed frequency mode, you must load in a different font (skinnier) than in multi-sync mode. The VGAPLUS program that came with the card does this automatically. I can send a program that loads the proper fonts (in fact, the 43 line font had been modified to look a bit better) from the DOS prompt. I originally wrote it so that Borland's SPRINT word processor could work in the 132 column modes (works great!) In the multisync mode, the 132 column modes on my 3D were so far to the right that I was unable to adjust it enough left to get the whole thing on screen. In fixed-sync mode, all modes center perfectly. The 3D is pre-programmed for VGA frequencies. ALso, keep your 3D's MODE switch to OFF. Andrew Rossmann andyross@ddsw1.MCS.COM
