This external box connects from the mac into any type of ethernet system. NCSA telnet then provides the software link. The great thing about this product is that it is external so that you do not need to open your mac and you can easily switch to a new mac without worrying about switching cards (just cables). I know that the box is not ceap (I think it's around $500), but it worked beautifully when we hooked one up in Toronto. I believe that it works for plus's and up, but I could be mistaken.
