Message-ID: <1173@mit-amt.MEDIA.MIT.EDU> Date: 7 Dec 89 07:46:02 GMT Reply-To: mjkobb@media-lab.media.mit.edu (Michael J Kobb) Organization: MIT Media Lab, Cambridge MA Lines: 20 Sigh, I promise, this will be my last question for at least 12 hours ;-). I was all secure in my choice of a Mac II system, when I discovered that the RasterOps ColorBoard 264 24-bit color card sells for $315 more than the Apple 8-bit card.* I could squeeze the extra $$ in without too much pain, and for the added color capability (especially in view of my long-term goal of purchasing a color scanner), it seems like a good buy. So, has anybody used one? I realize that it will be slower in 24-bit mode than the Apple card in 8, but how is it in 8-bit? Is it any faster than Apple's? And (here's the biggie), are there any known software/hardware incompatibilities with it? Have any of the Mac Magazines reviewed it recently? Many thanks, --Mike *MIT Discounted Apple Card: $450+tax = $472.50 MacZone Price on RasterOps $785 + $3 shipping = $788
