I identified the author as Andrew Gilmartin (Brown U.). Dave Wells (dwells@apple.com) has pointed out to me that the original author of FileName was Steve Maller, also of Apple. Gilmartin's stack credits Maller, so the misattribution is entirely my fault. Thanks to both authors for these useful functions. Did the original requester (Zhenjie Lin) get the copy of the stack that I mailed? I tried the lin@cmltas.cml.oz address, but my mail bounced.
