I need to define a font with some additional characters (with the AND
symbol, and the OR symbol, and with subsets...).  I have been trying
to do this an have not had much luck (or more correctly, lots of
bad luck).  

I copied the files for the Symbol font, into my home directory into
the appropriate ~leigh/Library/Fonts/... files and even IT will not
run.   When I start up a WriteNow application, it tries to load the
new font then it says "There was a problem with loading the new font
information.  Using the old font information".  I get the following
error from the console:
	WriteNow[6730]: Unrecognized event in [Application -sendEvent:], type=0

If anyone has succeeded in defining their own font, I would appreciate
any advice you have to offer.
