	The archive server at beowulf seems to have gone south. Some
	requests have gone through ok, but most seem to die a horrible death.
	Since these requests workfine when initiated by hand, I'm at a loss
	to discover the source of the problem. Until I get this tracked down,
	archive requests may not get serviced. I'll post another note when
	the system moves from flakey to reliable again.
