The nearby Big Bluish Beasties I have the same problem under OSx4.1, and I eliminated the symptom, at least, by bracketing the perror call at line 400 in telnet/Source/ sys_bsd.c with #if !pyr ... #endif ie, don't complain if setting the SO_OOBINLINE option returns an error code.
