The networking people have requested that I change my netmask to 255.255.255.0.0 to satisfy their setup requirements because of the IP domain allocations. When I do this change using ifconfig ec0 netmask 255.255.255.0 the command is accepted but after I logout I cannot login again unless I specify NOGRAPHICS as this netmasking change has ruined the windowing access. I have performed the same netmask change on a SUN workstation and have had no problems. Your attention to this problem will be greatly appreciated. Please respond via BITNET. Thank You Lise Bramall LNB@NRCVM01
