Message-ID: <221@bally.Bally.COM> Date: 9 Dec 89 02:06:55 GMT Distribution: usa Organization: Bally Systems, Reno, NV Lines: 41 Hi, y'all netlanders... We are running applications on an RT and are planning on porting those applications to AIX/PS2. If anyone has either done such a conversion or has sufficient knowledge about both AIX's, we'd appreciate some advice... On our RT's (model 6150/135's, AIX 2.2.1), we are using: C language (supplied with AIX, not the advanced one) curses (standard, NOT extended) TCP/IP (from C) Ethernet (raw mode ala biodd.h) SNA: both SDLC and Token Ring Unify (Unify Corp. has a PS/2 AIX version) shell scripts extensive serial port utilization (ioctl's: raw mode, etc.) shared memory messages perl 3.0 less sysline tcsh (anyone know where we can get this?) ...a few questions: 1. what are the porting caveats? 2. what are the performance differences? 3. what other questions should I be asking? :-) Thanks a bunch, o wise AIX users!!!
