Actually, I just completed doing it last night.  Instead of 5020 inodes on
the filesystem, I used mkfs with 10404 as the number, and it created 10400
inodes!

I want to thank everyone who responded to my plea for help!  I was about
ready to throw in the towell!  Thank you very much.
