A customer of ours has a need to hang over 80 serial ports on an AT&T 
6386 (25 or 33MHz running SVR3.2) but there will probably be no more than
20 concurent users (light word processing stuff).  AT&T should be shipping
their IPC1600 pretty soon, but they won't support more than 4 cards per
machine.

Does anyone have any experience with 32 (or more) port cards on 6386s?  
As expected, I'm concerned about the reliability of any non-supported
card.
