I had a similar problem regarding a DTC 6820 ESDI controller and a Miniscribe 9380E drive. I have purchased a fine new Adaptec 2322 controller on ISC's advice, only to learn it was the drive at fault. Guess I'm ahead of the game anyway now, since I have a *supported controller*.
