It is an X11 .bdf format, converted to X11/NeWS .fb using convertfont. I then ran bldfamily, which produced a .ff file, but complained about an unknown encoding. Seems that a map file is needed in such cases, which I obviously do not have. I put the .ff and .fb files in the font directory anyway, just in case, but xlsfonts doesn't recognise them and the prog concerned fails to load them. Can anyone suggest a way round this? I suppose it might be relevant that the prog is xtrek, the font xtrek, the machine a SPARCstation 1 and the OS 4.0.3c.
