DECwindows has a PostScript viewer that does this sort of thing.  It
only works with X servers supporting the Adobe Display PostScript
extension (like the DECwindows X server), though.  There are a few
other X PostScript viewers floating around, but I haven't tried any of
them.  As far as I know, none of the public domain graphics file format
converters read PostScript.
