I would heartily recommend the xgks package available via anonymous ftp
from expo. xgks is a level 2C implementaion of gks for x11. c and fortran
bindings are included. previous postings describe the package more fully.
xgks is brought to you by IBM Technical Computing Systems - Cambridge and
the Computer Science Department of the University of Illinois - 
Urbana/Champaign.

several other workstation vendors have a similar package.
i'm sure they would be happy to sell it to you.
