The windows are still available in the TwmWindows menu. Ideally, twm ought to figure out whether or not you'll be able to get a window back before allowing you to iconify it, but I'm not quite sure if that is completely doable. It could take a stab at it by not allowing a window to be iconified by unmapping if it isn't to be shown in the icon manager *and* the TwmWindows menu isn't bound to anything on the screen. But, don't count on it for R4.
