Keywords: EIA232, X11 Message-ID: <41338@lll-winken.LLNL.GOV> Date: 12 Dec 89 18:01:02 GMT Sender: usenet@lll-winken.LLNL.GOV Reply-To: casey@gauss.llnl.gov (Casey Leedom) Organization: Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory Lines: 17 I've just created the mailing list x-serial@lll-crg.llnl.gov for discussion on implementing methods to use the X Windows System efficiently across low bandwidth communications links. I called it x-serial after the expected dominant use of said methods. I.e. running X across EIA232. This list is archived and old messages are available on request. (The archive is only about 60Kb right now.) There was an old x-serial list registered somewhere at MIT, but it was defunct. When I asked that it be restarted, it was recommended that I sponsor it since I was interested in pursuing the subject. If you wish to be added to this list, please send a note to x-serial-request@lll-crg.llnl.gov. Requests to be removed and other administrative notes should also go to that address. Casey
