  A couple of thoughts on the matter.

  a) If rgb.dir or rgb.pag is corrupted, you must
	1) copy/create a new rgb.dir or rgb.pag
	2) restart your server.
  b) Are you sure that you have enough resources on your
     machine to allocate a new colormap or color cell? We
     had one guy on site running xfish and couldn't under-
     stand why he kept getting 'cannot allocate color cell'
     everytime he tried to start a new process (He had one
     free color cell left in the colormap when the process
     wanted three new colors.)
