Though very high praise from my friends, I have not been able to compile bash successfully on our computer(s), maybe due to different hardware (error not showing up on their 68030 SYSV computer). After a "make", the following pops up: gcc -traditional -c -g -Di386 -DTARGET=i386 -DSYSV -I./ jobs.c nojobs.c: In function wait_for: nojobs.c:168: invalid lvalue in assignment *** Error code 1 Stop. I have bash version 1.04 My equipment & environment: HW: Convergent SPC-200, 80386, 8M RAM SW: CTIX 2.20 (Unix V.3 (?)) Compiler: GNU cc 1.35, also tried with standard cc with same result. Also tried on std. PC running Interactive System Unix (V.3.2) with std. cc with same result. I suspect an error in the "jobs.h" file, as I spotted an "else" clause with a comment which may be misleading with respect to what is before and after the "else": however, I do not know the definitions sufficiently to pinpoint an error. Hope to get help from you. Sincerely, Inge Chr. Nagelhus !
