Beta testing of release 1.4 is going well. I would like to take a poll on the subject of what form of PC executable I should include in the next release. The two relevant options are: 1) Run on any PC, vs. run on V20/80186/80286/80386 only, vs. run on 80386 only. 2) Include debugging code (runs noticeably slower) vs. not. My current inclination is to build for V20/80186/80286/80386 (i.e., won't run on an 8088 or 8086, but runs noticeably faster on the other processors), and to not include debugging code. If anyone out there would prefer a different choice, please let me know real soon. I'm not planning to include a Unix or VMS executable, because there is so much variation between different systems.
