Before net.bizarre was created (in the create just by typing days) there was effectively no traffic similar to what appears there in the other groups. The group got created, a few people started posting "hey, let's post bizarre things!" and that inspired people to post what they otherwise would not have.) There are many other examples. There can be no denying that groups create traffic. They do not divert it, except in rare cases and moderated groups. Some groups create more traffic than others.
