Greenberg) Followup-To: news.groups Organization: Unix Today!, Manhasset, NY Lines: 24 Approved: woods@ncar.ucar.edu (Greg Woods) Herewith a modest proposal: Due to the increased volume of postings and what seems to be less and less "news" time, I'm not able to keep up with all the groups I used to. I'm sure that there are new groups with interesting discussions taking place as well. And, I'll bet that other people have the same problem I do -- so many groups, so little time. I propose that a new group be formed, the purpose to be a simple posting area for pointers to interesting discussions. The question is whether this should be a moderated group (keeps duplicate postings pointing to the same discussion from flooding the group) or whether we should hope that people simply don;t abuse the group. I'd like to propose that it be unmoderated initially, and (if felt useless due to flooding), a vote be held in the future (say, six months after creation) to determine whether it should go moderated. -- Ross M.
