Tom,

I don't think Bill was saying one should let any and all postings
go by unanswered if one finds them offensive.  He was pointing out
that posting a joke to rec.humor was not abuse of the net.  I would
add that risking a poster's job because one did not care for the
poster's sense of humor is a strikingly inappropriate response.
